Micro/nanotechnology and photonics are among the key enabling technologies of the twenty-first century, transforming the design of sensors, optical devices, electronics, communication systems, medical instruments and quantum technologies.
The Department of Microtechnology and Photonics educates specialists, develops strategic technologies and conducts fundamental and applied research on intelligent systems built on optical and micro-scale technologies, bridging electrical engineering, physics, materials science, electronics, optics, telecommunications and biomedical engineering.
