Department of Data Science and Technology
As digital technologies spread and the volume of generated data grows, data has become one of the most valuable assets of organisations, industries and governments. Extracting knowledge from data, making intelligent decisions, forecasting trends and optimising processes are now decisive factors in scientific, economic and industrial success.
The Department of Data Science and Technology educates specialists, develops technical know-how and conducts applied research in data and artificial intelligence. Its interdisciplinary approach connects computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, cognitive science and information technology.
Graduates apply data-driven technologies to complex problems in industry, health, energy, agriculture, transport, finance, security and smart governance.
